Uss Kelvin

Used as a deep range explorer the vessel carried out many significant missions for the federation but unfortunately these have been over-shadowed by her destruction at the hands of the future Romulan Nero. Many survived that attack, due in no small part to the actions of Lt Commander George Kirk his wife and child servived and before the ship hit the Romulan vessel he helped his wife choose a name... Jim Kirk, his wife later named their son James Tiberius Kirk. The Uss Kelvin was a starship that was unable to withstand the fire power of the future Romulan ship, but she survived long enough. Long enough to provide escape for many of her crew. The Uss Kelvin may she rest in peace.
