Dwarf Fortress is a single-player fantasy game. You can control a dwarven outpost or an adventurer in a randomly generated, persistent world. Although Dwarf Fortress is still in a work in progress, many features have already been implemented.
PLEASE NOTE: Saves from v0.27.169.32a+ are compatible. See "release notes.txt" for details. World generation takes a long time -- sometimes 20 minutes on 2GHz, and over an hour at 400MHz. Although watching the world unfold can be a worthwhile experie
