Hey thanks for checking out my new Christmas Holiday themed skin! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours this season! ^_^

From the people that brought you Pet clothes, now WEAPON SNUGGIES!!! Ever afraid of your weapon freezing over? Forgot your combat gloves and your weapon is ice cold to the touch? Well not anymore thanks to the new Holiday themed WEAPON SNUGGIES tm! Perfect for spreading Holiday cheer while mowing down the enemy! Great topic for conversation at your next Ugly Holiday Sweater party too! Get yours today!

This skin is largely inspired by the recent Call of Duty:Ghosts Holiday themed skins. Instead of a skin I thought it would be fun to make it like an actual sweater overlay for the weapon, much like people dress up their pets in Holiday clothing. Took great care to make sure proper ports and feeds were open through the sweater, slits for how the sweater covering would fit over the weapon and allow the attached ironsights.

In no way is this meant to be a realistic skin of course, just Holiday fun, but at the same time wanted a semblance of sanity with the madness. :P

CREDITS:

Original Textures = JONES

Ugly Christmas Sweater overlay = MasterChiefRulZ

Ingame screenies taken in JONES custom Christmas themed map "Christmas Hill."

JONES makes great stuff, be sure to visit his recent Alpha Project mod for BF2...

http://www.moddb.com/mods/alpha-project2

*********WARNING:---------------------- *********Installing custom content to BF2 will make you unable to play online. Make backups before changing files, **********and if at all possible just use a mod instead of your default BF2 install for messing around.

INSTALLATION:

Drag the zip "Objects Client" to the desired levels folder and drop it in. For example...

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\AIX2\Levels\Christmas_Hill

And drop it right in that folder.

Then drag the map's init.con file to your desktop (it is found in the server.zip in the map folder).

Add the texture suffix of the Christmas Sweater skin to the init at the following location..

rem -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

gameLogic.setBeforeSpawnCamera -120/43/12 104/17/0

if v_arg1 == BF2Editor LevelSettings.CustomTextureSuffix "" else texturemanager.customTextureSuffix "" endIf rem -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

GameLogic.MaximumLevelViewDistance 200

rem -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

When done it will look like this....

rem -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

gameLogic.setBeforeSpawnCamera -120/43/12 104/17/0

if v_arg1 == BF2Editor LevelSettings.CustomTextureSuffix "Christmas" else texturemanager.customTextureSuffix "Christmas" endIf rem -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

GameLogic.MaximumLevelViewDistance 200

rem -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drag and drop the file back into where you got it and overwrite.

If the map already has a custom texture suffix, just change the suffix (the last word of the file) to whatever suffix is being used. In the example map above of Christmas Hill, the texture suffix is "JONES" so you would change the "Christmas" suffix to "JONES"

If the file won't overwrite you'll need to right click the init.con file, and uncheck "read only" in the properties for it to save.

And that should do it. Happy Holidays!

Great site for Battlefield modding and cool stuff!
