Make sure you make backups before changing/modifying files or you might be sorry later. Having different files from servers mean they will kick you for trying to join, it's recommended to modify a backup copy of BF2 separate from the main install.

There's multiple ways to install this. Easiest way is to just backup the original texture, put it in a safe place, and drop this texture file in the appropriate folder of the weapon in your Objects client.zip. Another way is the texture suffix method, which I have already explained in detail at this featured download.
