My last release was like a year ago, and I got my new PC last week and just thought I start something. This didnt took me long, I started it tomorrow and finished it now. Its basically a Stick Nade in the new-gen style.
1. What is New-Gen?
New-Gen is a modelling method to create High-Detail on Low Poly Models by normal maps.
2. Why dont you just take the High-Poly Model and put it in the Game?
The High-Poly model got over 2 Million of Polys. A Engine cant handle that, because of that I create a Low-Poly Version of the High-Poly one and bake normal maps from the High-Poly to the Low-Poly one.
3. The Skin looks very flat and undetailed in my game!!?
This Skin only looks good in Direct X 9 mode and all settings on high. It works with the newest shaders of the Orange-Box engine, and all the shadows and lights get produced by normal maps and phong.
4. My settings are all on high, on some spots in the map it looks anyways flat.
This is not my fault, the Orange-Box engine cant handle baked normals that good as other engines that were coded for new-gen.
