Skin by rburke10

Description

This is a reskin for the Pip-Boy. It is designed to make the Pip-Boy look older and slightly worn, with damage such as scratches and rust. It is slightly darker and a lot of the original skin has been changed and edited. For example even the screws have been improved.

This submission comes with 10 different button glows to choose from, the main ones being show in the screenshot.

Installation

To install simply drag and drop/replace the files in the .zip to :

Program Files > Bethesda Softworks > Fallout 3

Also, to get custom textures/models/sounds to work you will need to go to :

My Documents > My Games > Fallout 3
  1. Inside you'll see a .ini file named FALLOUT.ini
  2. Open the .ini and search ( using ctrl + f ) for bInvalidateOlderFiles=0
  3. You'll want to change this to equal 1 so that it looks like bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
  4. Once the change is made, save the file and close it.
  5. Done !

Notes

Screen Glare - This submission comes with a different screen glare to go with the reskin. However if you do not like the screen glare you can remove it by deleting the screenglare.dds file. Dont forget to delete its line in the Archiveinvalidation.txt as well, otherwise your Pip-Boy screen will be all white.

Button Glow - There are 10 different button glow's to choose from, with the green one being demonstrated in the screenshots. All you have to do is select the one you want and then delete all the other ones in the Pipboy3000 folder. You will also have to rename the file from pipboybtnglow01_green.dds to pipboybtnglow01.dds. This applies to all the glow colour files.

Pip-Boy FOV - As you may or may not be able to tell from my screenshots I have altered the FOV of my Pip-Boy so that I see more of it in game. To do this go to the FALLOUT.ini located at My Documents > My Games > Fallout 3 and find the line called fPipboy1stPersonFOV, change the default value (47) to 53. However this setting is fine for my screen which is a 4:3 ratio, however other screens my differ. Experiment with the number to find the perfect setting for you.
