For all the inherent deadliness of the backburner (from the right angle, anyway), I always found the skin to be a bit tame; the fangs were nice, but they seemed more like something tacked on for blueprints sake then to create a fearsome effect. The old backburner looked to me as it was designed to look: well worn but functional.
Behold, my new backburner reskin: The Spinescorcher. Unlike the original which took years to make and looks like it was knocked up in a garage, this skin was knocked up in a garage but looks effing badass. Well, at least it does in my opinion. Features enhanced colors (to fix that "old paint" look), glowing fangs, and redone, bright eyes that glow in the dark (like I've always felt they should). It's not the most complex reskin out there, nor is it particularly impressive, but it takes the "back burner" and kicks up its intensity to what I've always felt it should be. I've now added new sounds to the pack as well, as the old ones always sounded really off to me. They're just the originals pitch-shifted down 25%, and are really more of a "why not" addition.
The Spinescorcher: Because any weapon that can do a guaranteed 450 damage per second should look like it.
Disclaimer: I was not aware of the other glowing backburner project. I developed this based entirely on skins extracted from the TF2 GCF archives, and just happened to have a similar idea. All that proves is how awesome the concept is, and I personally prefer my evil eyes anyway.
